This certification provides an organization with a nationally recognized certification in age-friendly care that can help to promote an organization’s dedication to care. IHI certification exists to recognize clinical care settings that are working toward reliable practice of evidence-based interventions for all older adults in their care known as the 4Ms (4Ms: What Matters, Medications, Mentation, Mobility).

The certification process take around 7 month and involves engaging in webinars, attending an in-person meeting, and developing a plan to implement the 4Ms in their specific setting, such as a unit, clinic, or emergency department.
