Azusa, CA – The Azusa Pacific University (APU) Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) is proud to announce its upcoming online continuing education seminar, “Dementia in Nursing Facilities,” presented by Christine Mlot, MD.
Designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, and other geriatric professionals, this seminar will delve into the prevalence, types, and reversible causes of dementia. Dr. Mlot will also discuss screening assessments, imaging workups, pharmaceutical treatments, and interprofessional care collaboration for patients with dementia.
This seminar is the first in a series of geriatric educational offerings sponsored by APU GWEP, with the goal of enhancing the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals working with older adults. The GWEP initiative aims to improve the quality of care for older adults through interprofessional education and innovative training programs.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Christine Mlot, MD, is a highly respected senior physician at CareConnectMD with extensive experience in geriatric care. She is passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensive care for older adults with dementia.
